President of Tajikistan Dismisses Defense Minister, Head of Communications Service, and Prosecutor General

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon continues personnel changes in the government. In particular, on January 23, Defense Minister Sherali Mirzo and Head of the Communications Service Beg Sabur left their positions. This is reported on the official website of the president of the republic.

The position that Sherali Mirzo had held since 2013 was given to Emomali Rahim Sobirzoda, former first deputy head of the department. Mirzo himself was appointed head of the Main Directorate for the Protection of State Secrets under the government.

Bobodjon Saidzoda became the new Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff.

Long-time head of the Communications Service under the government of Tajikistan, Beg Sabur, was sent into retirement, replaced by Isfandiyor Saidullo.

For the post of Prosecutor General of the republic, the candidacy of Habibulla Vohidzoda, who holds the position of Deputy Prosecutor General — Chief Military Prosecutor of Tajikistan, has been proposed.

Zeboniso Abdullozoda was appointed Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court. The position became vacant after Rustam Mirzozoda, who held it, took the chair of the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Tajikistan.

Karahon Chillazoda was relieved from the position of Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of the republic, replaced by Jamshed Karimzoda.

In addition, by presidential decrees and government resolutions, the following were dismissed due to transfer to other functions:

👉 Ahliddin Majidzoda — from the position of head of the defense and law enforcement department of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic;

👉 Abdusattor Shohiyon — from the position of head of the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic. His place was taken by Khurshed Safarzoda;

👉 Orif Amirzoda — from the position of director of the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences.
