Following President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Kuwait, Uzbekistan and Kuwait signed a package of economic cooperation agreements totaling $4.9 billion, according to the press service of the Uzbek head of state.

Mirziyoyev visited Kuwait on February 17–18, holding talks with Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah. He also met with key government officials, major business leaders, and financial institutions of the emirate.

Notably, nearly every meeting with Kuwaiti business representatives resulted in discussions of specific joint projects. For example, Mirziyoyev supported plans by Fouad Alghanim & Sons to develop healthcare and education facilities in Uzbekistan through public-private partnerships. Similarly, Action Group Holdings intends to build a hydroelectric power station, develop social housing, and engage in mineral resource processing.

Two companies—Al Imtiaz Investment Group and Gulf Care General Trading—expressed interest in pharmaceutical initiatives. The latter has already begun partnering with Uzbek medical professionals on a project for early disease detection.

Strengthening economic ties between the two nations is also at the core of Agility Logistics’ initiative to establish a logistics hub in Uzbekistan focused on exporting agricultural products to Gulf countries.

As part of the cultural program, Mirziyoyev visited the Al-Salam Palace Museum, which houses a collection of unique artifacts reflecting Kuwait’s centuries-old history. The Uzbek president praised the museum’s exhibits, architectural design, and modern infrastructure.
