Zaynillobiddin Nizomiddinov, the former head of Uzbekistan’s Presidential Administration, has been appointed as the khokim (head of administration) of Bekabad district in the Tashkent region. The appointment was announced by the press service of the region's khokimiyat (administration).
Nizomiddinov’s candidacy was presented by Tashkent region’s khokim Zoyir Mirzaev at an extraordinary session of the Bekabad district council of people's deputies. Prior to the vote, Mirzaev announced that the former khokim of the district, Shukhrat Dustbekov, had been relieved of his duties due to mistakes in his work. According to Mirzaev, the people of Bekabad are currently ranked last in the region in terms of service delivery, budget revenue, and attracting investment.
The Bekabad district council approved Nizomiddinov’s appointment as khokim.
Zaynillobiddin Nizomiddinov served as the head of the Presidential Administration from August 2018 to July 2022. He had previously been an assistant to Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his tenure as Prime Minister. Nizomiddinov left his post at the administration «due to a transition to another job for health reasons.» He was subsequently appointed as the first deputy chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, a position that had not existed prior to that day.
Sardor Umurzakov took over the Presidential Administration, and in August 2023, Mirziyoyev abolished the position.
