A Euronews report on Uzbekistan’s Center of Islamic Civilization (CIC) has attracted the interest of senior officials from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Russia, according to the CIC press service.

The visit of foreign guests to the Center, which is in its final preparation stage, took place during an international scientific and practical conference in Tashkent, organized by the State Customs Committee’s Institute of Customs.

Miryazam Khamraev, rector of the Institute of Customs, noted that inspired by the television report, the guests were eager to see the Center in person, and an excursion was arranged for them.

“This Center demonstrates the richness of science, culture, and civilization not only of Uzbekistan but of the entire Turkic region. Archaeological finds from the pre-Islamic period, especially examples of ancient weaving, made a strong impression on me. This place is part of our shared history,” said Gulu Novruzov, rector of the Azerbaijan Customs Academy.

Zhanat Shaimov, representing Kazakhstan’s Committee of State Revenues, emphasized that the Center’s exhibition felt like “history brought to life; we saw developments from the pre-Islamic period to the Second Renaissance.”

Yuri Somov, Deputy Head of the Research Institute of the Russian Customs Academy, was particularly impressed by the museum’s artifact collection.

“What struck me most were the authentic ancient objects and their harmonious integration with modern digital technologies. The interactive exhibitions seem to ‘transport’ a person to the past. This is not just education; it is a true experience,” Somov said.
