Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology has designed a transboundary ring-shaped tourist route connecting Turkmenistan – Khorezm – Karakalpakstan – Kazakhstan. The itinerary covers more than 15 landmarks of international, national, and regional significance, including UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The project was developed in cooperation with industry organizations and the private sector to boost tourist flows and expand services in Central Asia. Convenience of travel and cultural richness were key considerations in its design.

The route spans four regions and offers visitors several types of tourism:

▶️ Gastronomic — sampling traditional cuisine
▶️ Ecological — relaxation amid unique natural landscapes
▶️ Ethnographic — exploring customs and crafts
▶️ Pilgrimage — visiting sacred and historic sites

Highlights of the route include:

▪️ Turkmenistan — the ancient city of Merv, the Darvaza gas crater, and Kunya-Urgench
▪️ Khorezm — the fortresses of Ichan-Kala and Dishan-Kala
▪️ Karakalpakstan — the Savitsky Museum, Kyzyl-Kala, Chilpyk-Kala, the pilgrimage site of Sultan Uvays Bobo, Toprak-Kala, and Ayaz-Kala
▪️ Kazakhstan — the valleys of Torysh and Bozzhyra, the Shakpak-Ata Mausoleum, and Mount Sherkala

Tourists and travel companies are encouraged to explore the route either independently or as part of group tours to experience the culture, history, and natural beauty of the region.
