President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Renaissance children’s health camp in the Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region. The camp serves as a training hub for gifted students preparing for admission to universities in the American Ivy League, according to the press service of the Central Asian republic’s leader.

The initiative was made possible through a national program launched at the president’s initiative. This year, 1,500 students were selected to participate, each paired with one of 208 mentors from presidential and specialized schools.

As part of the program, the Renaissance camp hosts three-week intensive courses throughout the year. Following these sessions, the top 40 participants will be sent to Ivy League universities for exchange programs.

The camp can accommodate about 500 people and includes modern administrative, academic, and residential facilities. A hotel, cafeteria, and parking lot have also been built for visitors’ convenience.

This summer, winners of academic Olympiads, holders of international language certificates, and children from socially vulnerable families gathered here. They strengthened their knowledge and gained a solid foundation for the future. Once known as a recreational retreat, the Renaissance camp has been transformed into a space for education, personal growth, and innovation.

The president toured the facilities and reviewed student projects. According to officials, STEAM classrooms, a flight simulator, and natural science laboratories help transform students’ interests into practical skills.

Mirziyoyev also met with administrators and graduates of New Uzbekistan University.

“The potential, energy, and drive of our youth are immense. If we, as a state and a people, provide quality education, our children will become leaders in every field,” the president emphasized.

Education and youth policy are now priority areas in Uzbekistan. Schools are being built and equipped, and teenagers are given opportunities to realize their potential. In recent years, 14 presidential schools, 201 specialized schools, two sports schools, and nine schools of creativity have been opened. The teaching and evaluation systems applied in these institutions have since been introduced into 1,500 other schools.

Active efforts are also under way to prepare talented students planning to continue their education abroad. To this end, Uzbekistan has established a Center for Subject Olympiads and opened an international school.

The Ivy League is an association of eight private universities in the northeastern United States: Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale. These institutions are renowned for their prestige and high academic standards.
