The Oktyabrsky District Court of Bishkek has declared the media outlets Temirov Live, Kloop.kg, and Ait Ait Dese extremist, Kaktus.media reported, citing the city court of Kyrgyzstan’s capital.
The ruling was issued on October 27 following a request by the Oktyabrsky District Prosecutor’s Office.
Not only the materials of these outlets but also the activities of their owners — T. B. M. (Bolot Temirov, Temirov Live, and Ait Ait Dese) and T. R. R. (Rinat Tukhvatshin, Kloop.kg) — were recognized as extremist.
Under Kyrgyz law “On Countering Extremist Activity,” the distribution of materials from extremist organizations is prohibited and may lead to criminal prosecution.
Journalist and investigator Bolot Temirov was deported from Kyrgyzstan in November 2023 and banned from entering the country for five years. Kloop.kg co-founder Rinat Tukhvatshin also lives abroad.
On December 30, 2023, Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that, during internet monitoring, content containing calls to participate in mass unrest was found on the Ait Ait Dese and Temirov Live pages. A criminal case was opened, and 11 journalists were detained. They were accused of calling for protests and mass disturbances. In October 2024, Temirov Live and Ait Ait Dese director Makhabat Tazhibek kyzy was sentenced to six years in prison, Ait Ait Dese performer (akyn) Azamat Ishenbekov to five, and two journalists received three years of probation each. The remaining defendants were acquitted for lack of criminal elements.
The editorial team of Kloop.kg (Kloop) has faced government pressure for several years. In the fall of 2023, the Kloop website was blocked, and in February 2024, a court ordered the liquidation of the project’s legal entity — the Kloop Media public foundation. In September 2025, four former employees — two cameramen and two accountants — were convicted of “inciting discontent and organizing mass unrest.”
