In 2025, 78 foreign companies providing electronic services in Uzbekistan paid 181.3 billion sums ($14.7 million) in taxes to the state budget, the country’s Tax Committee reported.
This amount is 50 percent higher than in 2024. The growth in tax revenues from foreign companies is linked to rising consumption of electronic services in the republic.
More than 93 percent of the taxes paid came from the ten largest international companies. Apple led in tax payments in 2025, transferring 49.51 billion sums ($4 million) to the budget. Meta (designated an extremist organization in Russia) ranked second with 49.07 billion sums ($3.9 million). Google placed third, paying 44.45 billion sums ($3.6 million).
OpenAI ranked fourth with 11.71 billion sums ($952,000). It was followed by Booking.com with 4.32 billion sums ($351,000), TikTok with 3.56 billion sums ($289,000), and Netflix with 1.84 billion sums ($149,000).
The top ten also included ACCA with 1.58 billion sums ($128,000), Xsolla with 1.55 billion sums ($126,000), and Amazon with 1.47 billion sums ($119,000).
The ranking of taxpayers shifted compared with the previous year. In 2024, Meta was the leader and Apple ranked only third; in 2025, Apple moved into first place to become the largest foreign IT taxpayer in Uzbekistan.
Foreign companies providing electronic services to individuals in Uzbekistan are required to pay value-added tax (VAT). The tax base is calculated as the monetary value of the services provided.
