Sadyr Japarov, president of Kyrgyzstan, signed decrees on February 16 dismissing three ministers.
Transport and Communications Minister Absattar Syrgaev was relieved of his post. Talantbek Soltobaev was appointed acting head of the ministry.
Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision Minister Meder Mashiev was also dismissed. He was replaced in an acting capacity by Akyl Toktobaev.
Emergency Situations Minister Boobek Azhikeev was likewise sent into retirement. Urmatbek Shamyrkanov will serve as acting minister.
Earlier, on February 10, Japarov dismissed Kamchybek Tashiev as head of the State Committee for National Security. Zhumgalbek Shabdanbekov was appointed acting chairman. At the same time, the Border Service was removed from the committee’s structure and a new State Guard Service directly subordinate to the president was created.
Rustam Mamasadykov, who had served as secretary of the Security Council, was appointed first deputy chairman of the security committee. The council is now headed by Adilet Orozbekov.
Meanwhile, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu resigned as speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh. Lawmaker Marlen Mamataliyev was elected as the new speaker.
