From August 24 to 29, Tashkent will host the international media forum «Islamic Civilization: A New Look, New Discoveries,» «Dunyo» reports.

The main venue will be the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan. The forum will bring together representatives of foreign media outlets, international experts, and media industry specialists.

The program features plenary sessions, thematic exhibitions, press briefings, and bilateral meetings. Participants will discuss documentary filmmaking, the preservation of historical memory, publishing projects, modern technologies, and international cooperation in the media sphere.

Master classes led by foreign journalism and media production specialists will be held for Uzbek students.

On August 27, participants will travel to Samarkand to visit the Imam Bukhari complex and explore the city's historical and cultural heritage. A media tour of Tashkent will also be organized for foreign journalists.

The main program will wrap up on August 28 with a final plenary session and closing ceremony. The following day, foreign guests will take part in events marking the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.

The Center of Islamic Civilization was built in the Uzbek capital next to the Hast-Imam complex. Designed in the style of medieval architectural monuments, it features four portals rising 34 meters each and a central dome reaching 65 meters. Inside are a Quran hall, a 550-seat conference hall, and a museum whose exhibits span the entire history of Uzbekistan — from pre-Islamic times to the present day. The center is intended to serve as a platform for studying ancestral heritage and its contemporary interpretation, in cooperation with the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan and scholarly and educational institutions worldwide.
