China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has been contracted to renovate Kyrgyzstan’s two main international airports, Manas and Osh, according to the press service of Kyrgyzstan Airports (OAO «Aeroporty Kyrgyzstana»).
The company will upgrade runways, aprons, and lighting systems to enhance the airports’ operational capabilities in all weather conditions. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
«A special construction base has already been built, dormitories for workers have been erected, an asphalt concrete plant has been set up, and all necessary infrastructure is in place for the start of work,» said Manasbek Samidinov, chairman of Kyrgyzstan Airports.
The Manas International Airport will be the first to undergo reconstruction.
ℹ️ On February 14, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov laid the foundation stone for a new terminal complex at Osh International Airport. The two-story facility, which will include a basement, will span 25,443 square meters and have a passenger capacity of over 5 million per year.
Discussing the revitalization of Kyrgyzstan’s aviation sector, Japarov noted that the country has already inaugurated Karakol International Airport and Talas Airport. Meanwhile, major runway renovations have been completed at Jalal-Abad, Karavan, Kazarman, and Batken airports. Reconstruction is ongoing at Issyk-Kul International Airport and Naryn Airport, while plans are in place to construct a new airport in Jalal-Abad.
